Why read our Books?
The Invitation to Travel series about France, Italy, and Germany are "Why Not Travel" books that invite the traveler to become acquainted with the wonderful people they will meet, and the fascinating places they may visit as they travel through Europe. Our books are "Invitation to Travel" books. They do not tell about hotels and restaurants, they do not tell how to travel on $5 per day, or $500, neither do they tell how or where to park your RV. These are not an ordinary travel books, they are your Invitation to Travel in France, in Italy, and in Germany! Your bookstore or library contains thousands of "How To Travel" books or guides that are crammed full of information that will tell you what to do, and what to see, and what to buy, and what to eat, and where to stay. Our books present vacation adventures; travel anecdotes; snippets of history; and our enthusiasm for travel through Europe. Invitation to Travel Books are not about camping, although the major portion of each of our trips was made in a small Recreational Vehicle. We are not "professional" campers, we are tourists and sightseers and the RV is an especially convenient way for us to travel and see the most for the least amount of money, and in the least amount of time. In the body of the book, at the beginning of each chapter a map of the country (with the chapter location highlighted) helps orient the reader to the area being discussed. During nine trips we visited Europe for nearly 1,000 days, and spent at least one night in 452 different places in 30 countries. Included are 605 nights in our Recreational Vehicle in 406 different places in 26 European countries. Each of the books includes a page entitled "Where Jim and Emmy Slept." Included are the names of the 100 places we spent the night in France, 88 places in Germany, and the 63 different places we spent a night in Italy. This helps illustrate how extensively we have traveled and how much we have visited in each of these countries. The Forward in each book tells "How We Travel," "Why an RV," and the portion headed "Why We Travel" discusses what we find of most interest as we go from here to there. A short summary of each of our nine trips (from 1970 to 1995) is also included. The Appendix tells about "Camping in Europe," for both Americans and Europeans, includes a short discussion about "Travel Planning" and "Shopping," and at the very end, there is an essay entitled, "A Gift for Travel."
Each book $10, $25 for all three; includes Tax & postage in the USA.
